Known limitations
- SAP: actions on controls the Scripting API does not support (some embedded ActiveX/HTML) are not recorded.
- Web: closed shadow DOM is not captured; clicks that open native browser windows (print, download) produce no step.
- Desktop and complete process: how well a step is described depends on the accessibility each application exposes. Hand-drawn controls fall back to a visual step, with the clicked point highlighted in the screenshot.
- Electron applications (Teams, Postman, VS Code) keep accessibility off until a screen reader asks for it. The REC sends that trigger, but the very first clicks may come out as visual steps.
- Applications running as administrator need a REC at the same level, otherwise Windows blocks inspection.
